Bearcats fight off elimination in game three
Patenuade Martial Arts Bantam AA Bearcats were facing elimination from Provincials, down two games to zero, against Peterborough Ice Kats Wednesday night in Peterborough but that was all the motivation they needed. First period action was a back and forth game with chances at both ends as each team were trying to mark their territory but neither netminder was giving up the first goal.Nineteen seconds into the second period Jenn Keller got the top shelf peanut butter goal to open the scoring and fuel the fire even hotter under the Bearcats, assisted by Peyton Armstrong and Kaya Brahaney. The Bearcats kept coming at the Ice Kats full throttle in the offensive zone and shutting them down early in the defensive zone.

With only a one goal lead going into the third the shots kept being
blasted at Peterborough and with a bullet from the point into the crowd and a between the leg pass
from back door Mackenzie Tyner popped one in to increase the lead, assisted by Sydney Woodcock and
Sydney Pipe. The intensity was at an all time high with a couple minutes left in the game when
Peterborough pulled their goalie to put the extra attacker out. The Bearcats were not there to play nice
and kept them at bay giving Addison Cochrane the shutout after a stellar performance between the
pipes.
Game four will be played Saturday, March 7 th , 6:45pm, at Quinte Wellness Centre, FDC pad. Come cheer
the girls on to force a fifth and deciding game.
