First Tournament Was A Success!
Bearcats U11BB first tournament of the
season came with great success.
Starting early Friday morning with a 5-0 win over Lindsay Lynx and finishing the day off with a 5-1 win over Napanee. Teamwork was not an issue for these young hockey players. Undefended going into Saturday they came out with another win 5-0 against Central York. With a seven-hour wait for their next game against Clarington, the girls tied 1-1. Going into the semi-finals on Sunday the girls came into the arena roaring and ready to play. With a 4-1 win over Lindsay Lynx they headed to the finals again Clarington with nothing but determination as a team. As the arena filled with fans, their high-energy bond skated on the ice with only one mission…..to win. Scoring shorthanded, Georgia Baker put the Bearcats up 1-0. Goalies, Madison Taft and Hope McMaster had one focus in mind…to stop the puck and they did. With only minutes left in the third period, Claire Lavender scored making it 2-0 for the Bearcats. When the buzz went off, their hockey gloves flew in the air and they came together to cheer. Hard work pays off for these hockey players. Congratulations Bearcats!!
