U11BB Weekend Update
What a weekend of girl’s hockey! It was bursting with high energy Bearcats.
First game back from the lock down against Lindsay Lynx did not stop these amazing hockey players. They came on the ice Friday night roaring to go. With a quick top corner goal from Kylan Courtney early in the first period got the crowd buzzing. From then on these girls made unbelievable passes and worked together to score five more goals winning 6-0. Kylan Courtney and Callie Lyall with two goals and Claire Lavender and Kendyl Hunter each with a goal. Madison Taft with the remarkable shutout. They were ready and charged up for their game Saturday against Whitby Wolves.
With a fierce Whitby team ready to go, it did not stop the girls from getting the big W. Battling hard through the first two period’s perseverance and team collaboration truly paid off. Hope McMaster made multiple key saves to keep the game 0 – 0. Settling down in the third and using their incredible hockey skills, Kendyl Hunter went end to end skating through every Wolf around to land the puck in the back of the net. With that goal, there was no stopping Audrey Harker and the rest of the Bearcats. Attacking the net and never giving up, Harker was able to get the puck past the goalie to make it 2-0 with minutes to play. Standing their ground, these Bearcats finished the game leaving everything on the ice but a goal against Hope McMaster. Fans were on their feet cheering every step of the way. What a great way to end the weekend!
