Champions Again for the Amos Earth Products U11BB Belleville Bearcats
All gloves were on deck for the Amos Earth Products U11BB Belleville Bearcats in the Cougars Friendship Festival this past weekend in Toronto.  These girls represented our small town Belleville and girl’s hockey with respect and purpose on the ice.  This unselfish team worked together creating plays for all girls to have a chance to get on the scoreboard.

First game against the Waterloo Ravens was a clear example of hard work.  Rough and tough did not scare Kendyl Hunter. Deking out almost every player she got us on the board 1-0.  Kylan Courtney was able to give us some wiggle room with another wonderful goal winning the game 2-0.

The next game against Toronto Leaside had the fans on their toes when Leaside got the first early goal making it 1-0.  Then the Bearcats kicked it into high gear and never looked back.  Naylan Capellan with a blue line snapper across the goalie shoulders, Claire Lavender with two incredible goals to get the crowd blaring, and Audrey Harker finishing the game with her amazing never give up until the puck is in the net attitude. Winning the game 4-1, they skated off the ice with nothing but smiles and gratitude.

Game three against the Oakville Hornets was a display of greatness.  All coaches sat back and watched what they had practiced come to light.  Kendyl Hunter and Kylan Courtney with two goals, Avery Hayes, Callie Lyall, Taylor Little, Gracie Wilman each with a goal.  Georgia Baker with three amazing assists winning the game 8-0.   The coaches walked off the bench pretty honored to witness such an amazing game and knowing the Bearcats were going to the finals. With excitement in the air the girls stepped on the ice making it known they were ready for finals.

Small but mighty Georgia Baker was determined it was her turn to shine for the team.  Scoring two goals and one remarkable assist, she claimed player of the game.  Audrey Harker with two goals, Lila Osterout and Naylan Capellan each with a goal they won the game 6-0.  Both Madison Taft and Hope McMaster played remarkably throughout the whole tournament only allowing one goal to cross the line.

As the medals went around their necks and listening to them sing we are champions, it was a memory these girls will not forget.  A big shout out to the outstanding coaching staff.  Their constant positive support sparkles through these girls and it is the reason why they love the game so much!

They play Clarington Flames this Friday, February 25, 2022 at 6:30pm at the Wally Dever.  Come cheer on your Belleville Bearcats!
