Hometown Hockey Heroes

The 2017-2018 Atom A Bearcats won everything that there was to win. They won 7 gold medals including the Lower Lakes Championship, International Silver Stick Championship and the Provincial Championship. However, it isn't their on-ice prowess that has caught the eye of a television production. Instead, it is their kindness and empathy off the ice that has put them in the national television spotlight.

Of the thousands of Atom hockey teams in Canada, the Spry Site Supervision Atom A Bearcats were chosen to compete in the Scotiabank Heroes of Hockey Challenge. After a long process to decide who would compete in the finals on television it was decided that The Bearcats of Belleville and the Lake Bonivista Breakers (near Calgary) had best shown the qualities that everyone should aspire to.

Two teams, chosen for their hard work and selflessness, stand-off in a 3-challenge competition. But only one will win the hockey experience of a lifetime: A trip to Scotiabank Hockey Day in Canada! Will it be the Belleville Bearcats or the Lake Bonavista Breakers? Watch full episodes on Scotiabank Wednesday Night Hockey on Sportsnet.
