2025-26 Season Coaching Application


Coaching applications for Tier 2 and 3 teams are now being accepted for the 2025/2026 season.
Deadling for applications TBD - Coaching applications for possible Tier 2 and 3 teams will be accepted until further notice.

BDGMHA applies great importance to the position of coach and its role within the organization. In most cases it is the coach’s influence, style, knowledge and ability that will help determine the success of the team both on and off the ice. BDGMHA strives to ensure that their members receive the best coaching possible. We will review all coaching applications as part of the interview and selection process.

An interview panel will be established and their recommendations will play a key part of the selection
process. The BDGMHA is the final authority for accepting coaches for all teams and programs. Successful applicants must provide a current Vulnerable Sector Clearance.

Tier 2 and 3 coach selections will not be announced formally to the Association members until after Tier 1 tryouts.

Applications are currently being accepted for the following teams:
U18, U15, U13, U11 and U9 

All applicants are required to complete in full and submit by the deadline the following:

· All requested attached documentation as identified in the application

Those selected for an interview will be invited within two weeks following the end of the application process. Successful applicants will be notified of interview date and time by email

Note: applicants will receive acknowledgement by email to confirm receipt of application. If acknowledgement is not received within 7 days from date sent, please contact BDGMHA asap to ensure your application was received.

Not all applicants that apply will be granted an interview. The Selection Committee will contact only those candidates that qualify for an interview.

*Should the Selection Committee report to the BDGMHA executive that they could not recommend a suitable candidate for a team after the interview/selection process, the Board reserves the right to repost the position. Applicants should not assume that they will be acclaimed into a coaching position.

Unfortunately, as in hockey and life, not everyone can "win" the coaching position they want and not every parent will be happy with the selection. We hope that we can agree the process was handled fairly and that we will all support the coaches who were selected.

Note: If selected to coach: All BDGMHA members – must provide a current Criminal Records Search including a Vulnerable Sector Check

I authorize the Belleville and District Girls Minor Hockey Association and/or the Coaches Selection committee to collect, the above-noted information, some of which may be personal information, appropriate to the position applied for.  I understand that the information obtained will be confidential but may be shared with relevant organizations, interview panel members and board members as determined by BDGMHA in order to obtain an appropriate volunteer position. 

I understand that failure to submit any of the requested information, including this application, could prevent my application from being moved forward to the next stage in the coaching application process. 

If my application for the coaching position is successful, I agree to abide by all BDGMHA (and its governing bodies OWHA, OHF, Hockey Canada) rules and bylaws.  I understand and agree that as Head Coach, I bear ultimate responsibility for all coaching staff conduct or lack of performance in his/her/their duties. I also accept responsibility for all player conduct on and off the ice and will ensure that the team will display the highest level of sportsmanship in representing the Belleville Bearcat Association, and as ambassadors to women’s hockey.
