U9 programs – for players who are U9 and under (2017 - 2018) and who can skate independently.
This program is two parts....U9 Tier 2 competitive (rep) team and a U9 development (House League) team
...development skates followed by tryouts (total of 7 skates) happen the first week of September once the kids are back in school

· How much you wish your daughter to participate is up to you
· one skate per week
  · two skates or more per week
· Your registration fee will be determined by this (fee TBD)

For our U9 program we use a Cross Ice format for our program. U9 Rep teams must play cross ice until Jan 15th and then can move to full ice games and practices

The aim of the Cross-ice program is to encourage an environment in which the children can learn the basic skills without the distraction that is often associated with an over emphasis on winning.
· The objectives of the Cross Ice program is:
· Stress participation, fun and skill development
· To provide a step towards a full-ice program
· Modify the playing environment to meet the needs of younger players
· Increase opportunities for younger players to touch and handle the puck
· Increase the practice to game ratio to a minimum of three practices to one game
· Provide a positive environment for learning the fundamental skills of hockey
· Improve the utilization of ice time

“It makes no sense for kids to play organized games until they have reasonable mastery of skating, puck handing, passing and shooting.”
-Dr. Murray Smith, Sports Psychologist Edmonton Oilers/Kelowna Rockets

Our Bearcat Monday Night House League program is on Mondays 6:30 game times at the Quinte Sports and Wellness Centre – Mackay Arena

With our current registration numbers we are only able to ice 2 teams so we play inter squad games plus have power skating and practices at World Elite and we managed to make this a very enjoyable season for our girls.

Cost is $400 and we play from end of Sept to March Break

Bearcat Senior House League – U18 and older

Our Bearcat Senior House League program is on Tuesdays 9pm & 10pm games at the Quinte Sports and Wellness Centre – Mackay Arena

Our Bearcat Senior House League consists of four teams on a first come first serve basis…registration wise

Each team has a maximum 15 players and one goalie.

Our Senior House League is a “Recreational League” for players U18 and older (there are exceptions to this..contact us)

We want to point out that this league has a large range of skills…from new to hockey to rep players returning to the area

This league will have zero tolerance for body contact, rough play, bad language, etc. This is a league where our players come out one night a week to play some hockey with friends and cheer on both their team as well as their opposition.  We do not keep stats and winning every game is not our focus, we like to focus on our players coming out for some great exercise while playing the game they love. Everyone needs to get up in the morning with their kids and/or go to work or both, so we don’t need anything to happen that will prevent this.  There are other leagues around if you are looking for something more competitive.

Cost is $400 and we play from end of Sept to March Break
