Patenaude Martial Arts Belleville Bantam AA Bearcats started the playoff season strong against theirrivals, the Kingston Ice Wolves, with an intense game Tuesday night at the Invista Centre. Bearcatsopened up the scoring with two minutes left in the first on the power play with a rifle from the point byJocelyn Masters and a precise tip in by Kaya Brahaney also assisted by Mackenzie Tyner. With end toend action, tough physical play and multiple chances both teams were leaving the fans on the edge oftheir seats holding their breath. Belleville maintained the 1-0 lead going into the third but the Ice Wolvescame out strong after the flood and tied the game with nine minutes left.
The Bearcats fought hard toget the tie-breaking goal attacking Kingston’s net but in the end settled with a tie proving to be theirbest performance thus far. Addison Cochrane was razor sharp between the pipes for Belleville turningaway twenty-six shots. Belleville will host Kingston for game two of the playoffs Saturday, February 8 th ,5:15pm at the Quinte Wellness Centre, FDC pad. Come on out and cheer your Bantam Bearcats on.
