Unfortunate Loss To End The Bearcats Season
Patenaude Belleville Bearcats Bantam AA fought hard to the end taking Peterborough to a fifth and deciding game but came up just short in extending their season.Saturday nights game was played at home in front of friends and family. Both teams came up scoreless in the first period that had all the excitement of a do or die game. The Peterborough Ice Kats hit the scoreboard first early in the second to put the pressure on the Bearcats. With 2:26 left in the game the Bearcats found the back of the net on the power play scored by Jenn Keller, assisted by Kaya Brahaney and Peyton Armstrong. Neither team could break the tie, and each earned one point.
Sunday was a must win in regulation for Belleville as they entered Peterborough’s barn. Another nail
biter, action packed game saw Belleville come up short in the end with a final score of 2-0 (empty net
goal). Addison Cochrane was solid in net for the Bearcats turning away twenty-eight shots.
Belleville played hard and left it all out on the ice and made their coaches, parents and fans very proud
to be a part of the Bearcat organization. Good luck to all the girls in tryouts this year.
