Great Start to the Season
Amos Earth Products U13 A Belleville Bearcats are 3 - 0 to start the regular season!

The Bearcats opened up the regular season at home vs. the Durham West Lightning on October 22nd. The girls came out flying and jumped out to a 2 - 0 lead with both goals scored by team Captain Averie Cole. The remainder of the game was back and forth with the Lightning & Bearcats each scoring two more goals. Goalie Hope McMaster made 6 huge saves in the final two minutes to seal the win! The Final, 4 - 2 for the Bearcats. Averie Cole put the team on her back to earn player of the game. She finished with the Hat trick and an assist! Naylan Capellan played an all-around great game for the team as well, scoring a goal and recording an assist. Naylan is a solid right winger and previously having experience playing defense she also filled in on the back-end while the team killed off penalties. Taylor Little, Kendyl Hunter, and Molly Norton also recorded assists. Hope McMaster picked up the win in net. Big shout out to our Super fan who was in the stands and had the crowd fired up!

This past weekend the Bearcats were on a 2-game road trip, Saturday’s contest in Whitby vs. the undefeated Wolves! This was a tight game going scoreless in the first 2 periods, The Bearcats stayed focused in the 3rd, kept battling hard and it paid off. Brooklyn Musclow carried the puck out of the D zone and made a tape-to-tape pass to Averie Cole, Cole ripped a shot past the Goalie to open up the scoring! With momentum on the Bearcats side the girls came out with another strong shift. Kylan Courtney found the puck in the neutral zone and bumped a pass to Callie Lyall who was flying out of the D zone. Lyall turned the jets on high, skated past the Wolves D, deked out the goalie and made a highlight reel backhand top shelf goal!  With a 2 - 0 lead the game wouldn't be over yet. The Wolves responded with a hard forecheck and created a ton of scoring chances, but goaltender Madison Taft was dialed in making save after save & Kendyl Hunter helped settle down the Bearcat team with strong defensive play including smart decisions with the puck and winning hard physical battles. Taft's rebound control and finding pucks through traffic continued to be outstanding! Penalties hurt the Bearcats in the final 3 minutes and the Wolves managed to score 5 on 3. The last minute was intense as the Wolves kept pushing for the game-tying goal. Madison Taft continued to be solid in net and secured the win! The best game of Taft's career as she earned Player of The game.

Sunday's game the Bearcats were in Oshawa to play the Lady Generals. The Generals were looking for their first win of the season and it showed as they came out very physical and carried the play through the first & 2nd period. Hope McMaster made key saves and Bearcats D zone positioning and strong breakouts limited scoring chances, after 2 periods the game was still tied 0 - 0. Penalties were a factor in this game, the Bearcats PP looked great, but they couldn't find the back of the net. Georgia Baker was leading the way on the PK to keep the Generals off the board. Gracie Wilmon and Brooklyn Musclow were solid, winning battles on the boards and matching the Generals physical play, which gave the Bearcats confidence. Not long after the 3rd period started, Callie Lyall won a faceoff and for the second game in a row used her speed to gain the offensive zone and this time she had the goalie moving and ripped a shot from the high slot to score low blocker. It was back and forth until halfway through the 3rd when Lyall passed to Audrey Harker who scored her first of the season! The final would end 3 - 0 with Averie Cole getting the empty net goal. Hope McMaster with a big Shutout!

The Bearcats get back to work in practice as they prepare for another away game on Friday November 11th, 6:00pm puck drop vs. the Peterborough Ice Kats at Cavan Monaghan Community Centre.
